Absolutely outrageous experience.
I brought my 2014 Mazda 3 in for an MVI and was presented with a repair estimate of $2,006.96. According to this shop, my car supposedly needed tie rod work, both front control arms and ball joints, inner fenders, a headlight assembly, and hundreds of dollars in labor and body work just to pass inspection.
I knew my car isn't in such a bad shape, I decided to get a second opinion. And I was right.
The second mechanic found that the vehicle only needed a single outer tie rod to pass inspection.
Not $2,000 list of items. See the attached images.
I am still stunned by the difference between these two assessments. Being told that I needed over $2,000 worth of repairs, only to discover that another mechanic identified a single required repair, completely destroyed any trust I could have had in this business.
If I had blindly accepted their estimate, I could have wasted thousands of dollars on repairs that another licensed mechanic apparently did not consider necessary for the inspection.
This shop either doesn't know what they're doing or, more likely, they know exactly what they're doing!
My advice to anyone receiving a large repair estimate here: get a second opinion immediately. It may save you thousands of dollars.
I will never return, and I would strongly caution others before trusting any major repair recommendations from this shop.
I'm completely satisfied with the MVI. You guys are awesome.
