I brought my vehicle to Burlington Auto Works on January 19 for scheduled maintenance, specifically an oil change and a transmission fluid change.

During that visit, I was told I also needed front brakes and a third brake light bulb. At the time, I was not experiencing any brake symptoms and had no warning lights. I went ahead and told them to do the work, as at the time I was not at home to review my maintenance history.

Later when I was home and was able to review my service history with the owner, I learned that in May 2024 this shop replaced my front rotors only, not the pads. (I was experiencing vibration issues when braking). The invoice wording at the time stated “pads and rotors,” but I was later told that this was a documentation error and that only rotors were actually installed.

According to their own inspection notes from that 2024 visit, my front brake pads were measured at approximately 6 mm (about 50% remaining). I was told that, because the pads were still serviceable, replacement was not recommended at that time.

My concern is that when rotors are replaced due to a vibration issue, replacing the pads at the same time should at least have been clearly recommended and discussed. Instead, I was left in a position where I had to return later and replace both pads AND rotors again — entirely at my expense — after relatively limited use of the previous rotors.

From a customer perspective, this sequence feels poorly advised and avoidable.

In addition, the exact same third brake light bulb had been replaced by this shop in August of 2024. I was surprised to be told it had already failed again. While I was told bulbs can fail unpredictably, no testing information, documentation, or other supporting evidence was provided — only verbal explanations.

I track my vehicle maintenance carefully, and I found it disappointing that no objective measurements, photos, or inspection reports were shared for the recent recommendations.

After raising these concerns directly with the owner and exchanging several detailed emails, I was told the shop would not offer any credit, accommodation, or goodwill gesture and that their position was final.

Finally, when I dropped my car off, I had an unpleasant interaction with the receptionist, Van, which came across as rude and unwelcoming.

Based on my overall experience and how this was handled, I will not be returning, and I do not recommend this business

We have been taking our cars to Burliongton Auto for a few years now. Adam and his team are always professional and the work is completed quickly and for a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to bring my car to them.

Maneesh was amazing and very accommodating. I had a broken steel peace inside my wheel rim constantly rubbing and making noise. Maneesh was able to remove it for me as a quick repair and was always extremely accommodating.
