SHIFT ELECTRIC VEHICLES

If I can give zero I would have. I went to Shift shop with my Tesla model X and told him few things that are not working. I was told it will need diagnostic to see if they can repair/fix it. They charge double the amount what Tesla is charging for diagnostic and told me the same problems that I told him and they all need to be repair and cannot be fixed. And out of all these parts they have only one (which he quote more then Tesla have quoted me) and the rest he will order from Tesla. I was puzzled that I paid 300$ plus for diagnostic and he told me exactly what I have told him is not working plus he is charging more then Tesla. I questioned why would any one come to you if they can get same job done from Tesla much faster and cheaper, to which he simply shrugged his shoulder with no answer. With this service I would NEVER GO again or recommend to anyone.

— In response to the owner's reply: The tires were never presented to me as defective. I asked for new tires as any buyer would — to sweeten the deal. You implied it would be a waste to replace them as they would 'easily last the rest of the year.' I naturally believed that, since my independent inspector had rated all four tires as GOOD at 8/32". I took the $2,000 discount and moved on. But the vehicle that arrived is not the one you sold me.

I purchased a 2024 Rivian R1S Adventure from Shift Motors (Burlington, ON) in March 2026. Before finalizing the purchase I commissioned an independent inspection in Burlington — all four tires rated 8/32" GOOD. Shift's salesperson confirmed in writing the tires would "easily last the rest of the year."

The vehicle was shipped by professional auto transporter (TFX International) to BC — not driven. Odometer at transport pickup: 20,195 miles. Upon arrival it failed the mandatory BC provincial safety inspection — front tires at 0mm tread. The vehicle was illegal to drive. Odometer at inspection failure: 20,210 miles.

Amicable solution with Shift failed. OMVIC complaint filed. Ontario Small Claims Court claim on file: SC-26-00000619-0000, Burlington Superior Court of Justice.
