These guys had the goods
I had a great experience getting a new remote starter installed here. Huge thanks to Bryce for all his amazing help throughout the process. Highly recommend this shop for their excellent service!
Unfortunately I have to give this business a poor rating.

I went in looking for my signal light and hi--beam indicators on my new Dakota Digital dash to be wired in and an electrical issue related to the heater, a/c blower fan.

Those issues were resolved which I appreciate.

What I don't appreciate is a hefty bill for work I never asked them to perform and a non-functioning air conditioning unit that was working prior to my visit.

The 'belt squeal' they decided to repair and charge me for was still there and the a/c blower fan issue was not resolved either.

I feel I was taken advantage of and I will avoid this business and report my experience to the better Business Bureau in hope it protects the next person using ARA Auto Accessories.

Jeff

Hello Sam.

I'm writing with regards to the work completed on my vehicle last week.

I have to admit that I was disappointed to find that nothing had been fixed, including the squealing from the idler bearing or the a/c compressor and the random heater, a/c blower activation.

The squeal was heard by your staff and the tech that worked on the vehicle. In fact the tech came to investigate it in the parking lot before I had left and after I had paid my bill.

I was told that the a/c system had been over-charged.

Are you able to tell me what the pressure was upon the initial testing?

I also wonder why the refrigerant that came out of my system was not re-installed to the correct pressure. My a/c was blowing cold air and the refrigerant was fairly new.

Can you tell me what the system was charged too?

As far as the blower problem goes, I have noticed no change there either.

The blower fan comes on and it appears there is a loose connection at the ECU on the a/c unit.

I'm wondering how you might be able to help me out as I'm not all that pleased with where things are at.

Thanks Sam,
Hey Jeff

I understand your concerns

Apon hearing the belt noise, the first thing we did was inspect the belt itself, we saw no excessive belt wear. My technicians reasoning for suspecting an AC overcharge as the cause of the squeal is largely due to two factors.

Firstly, the AC systems pressures were quite high, this was our initial concern.

Secondly, when we first heard the squeal, we did identify It as a belt noise; however, we believed we heard it originating from the compressor clutch.

An overcharged AC system/compressor puts more strain on the compressor components, including the clutch.

We concluded that the belt was slipping on the compressor clutch pully, because of excessive refrigerant pressure making the shaft and clutch pully turn at a slower rate and bind intermittently.

We moved forward with the evacuation and recharge, and after the proper amount had been added, the issue ceased. This is why we did no further investigation into the tensioner or belt itself.

I know that the belt noise and blower issue have not been resolved; however, the AC pressures were a definite concern. AC overcharge affects the efficiency of the system, leads to ice buildup on the evaporator, premature failure of the compressor and more.

As mentioned in my previous email; we are willing to work with you in regards to getting the belt squeal resolved, and spend some non-billable time looking into what it needs.

I understand you are reluctant to bring your vehicle back, and that is 100% your purview. Please know we are still committed to working on your vehicle and getting your issues resolved.

If you do decide to cancel or reschedule the appointment, please let me know

Any further inquiries or concerns, reach out to me

Thanks

I also note that the tech added dye and said no dye found on the first invoice, no squeal and no heater fan blower problems.

I never left your lot and the , so called, belt squeal was still present and the fan blower issue was not resolved either.

I had a functioning, non-leaking compressor on your first invoice and left the shop with a disconnected, non-functioning A/C system with a shaft leak on the second invoice.
I had a dash cam installed here. Before paying, I only wanted to make sure that it was working. That’s when the employee started complaining.

He told me that even if the dash cam didn’t work, it wouldn’t be their problem because they only did the installation and that they had already tested it. I told him that there was no need to take it that far. I hadn’t even said there was a problem yet. I just wanted to test it, but he kept repeating the same thing several times. I’m also not sure how they tested it, since the dash cam requires an app to check.

While I was sitting in the car trying to turn it on for the first time, he complained that he was busy. I told him he could go back to work and that I would check it myself, but he sat next to me with one leg outside the car and said he couldn’t leave me alone.

He told me that the installation came with a one-year warranty. If there’s a one-year warranty, I don’t understand why he was so defensive about a customer simply wanting to check what they were paying for.

I came here because the dealership recommended this place. I don’t think I’ll be coming back.
Sep 2026 (Updated review )
Thanks for your honesty and really looking into customer experiences or feedback “Sam & Brett.”
It’s really isn’t about the money but thank you for crediting back the excess charge back to me. Also, I appreciate your gesture in taking time explaining the mishap while switching roles, totally makes sense.

—————————————————————————————
Aug 2026
Stopped by to my so called fav auto shop to get my CRV’s rear seat fold issue, which I already did most of the work on by replacing a brand new part for mechanical seat fold, however just couldn’t finish the job myself as the latches weren’t done right.

I arrived at the time of my appointment was greeted and taken care of as I explained the issue in detail to the shop exec( Brian or Steven. ) He acknowledged and said he’ll get me out of here swiftly, and I guess he sticked to his word and I was called with a little over 30 minutes that my car was ready to be picked up. Yeah ! Now comes the fun part as there were no parts involved and got myself billed for an exorbitant $142 labor 😫. That was really steep and unexpected, especially for a 10-20 minute job for a professional and most importantly the customer already knew the issue and a possible fix.
Well as small businesses we all are here to make money but that doesn’t mean you can blindly steal. I was expecting maybe half or close to a $100 bucks for their reasonable time and service. I’ve lost my trust in them.{ FYI a mobile mechanic the other day said he could do that for me at my place for less than $100 bucks, I should’ve taken that call. }🤘🏻😌
—————————————————————————————
Nice shop in the SE quadrant for auto electrical reqs.
I visited here a couple of times at first to get my dash cam installed and after that to get my 12 V cigarette lighter fixed.
Apparently got the fuse replaced in less than half an hour without scheduling an appointment.
Samy the owner of this place is helping guy.
