Honestly nothing but good to say. Fixed more on my car in one hour than a different shop did in four trips there and hundreds of dollars. Great price great staff. Will always take my cars there from now on!
He was a very friendly man. They did everything quickly and inexpensively.
Local, friendly service. Have always been reliable, flexible, and reasonable prices. Hands down my go-to mechanic in the city area and beyond.
I acknowledge that lots of people have had a good experience at this shop. Apparently they weren’t driving the type of vehicle we needed repaired.
We have an older Mercedes SUV that needs servicing. It’s off warranty and we have no local dealer so I started calling around to nearby shops to see if they could assist.
I call Mike’s. Guy answers, I ask politely if they service Mercedes, and he replies, in a rather “snarky” manner, “We try not to!” I promptly ended the call.
I get frustrated by this attitude that seemingly pervades society today. Businesses act like they are doing you a favour by letting you do business with them. A potential customer is calling with a problem and they are considering bringing their business to your shop. The person asks a simple question and this guy responds with an insult.
This gives me a lot of insight into this owner and his staff. His reply suggests they don’t think much of German cars or perhaps the people that drive them. I don’t really care about their opinion.
It also suggests he sees no value in investing in his business or his people to upgrade skills in order to provide service for said cars, not an insignificant market in the area. Ok, fine, that’s his call. Many small businesses are poorly managed.
But to offend a customer out of the gate with such entitled arrogance is unacceptable. Just say you don’t service them and be polite about it. Full stop.
Guess the Fton Townie pretension that is so well known remains well in place with local business owners.
Happy to take my business elsewhere.
