I was on the way to the airport from Central Alberta. My car which had a second hand transmission installed in Calgary three a code and fell into limp mode. Feeing concerned I was going to miss my flight, I called ahead and they said bring it in. They jumped in my car with their scanner tool and drove it on the highway to monitor the transmissions parameters. They cleared the codes and summized it was a stuck solenoid from the transmission sitting. Gave me reassurance that it could be a temporary concern untill the the transmission has more miles put on it. Peace of mind before I fly out, priceless

My experience over many years with this business with proprietor K.D. is VERY good. First of all he is always honest with the state of your vehicle. If something is going, he won't "sell" you a repair on the spot (unless of course it's detrimental), but will give you an estimated amount of time the part may still be good for before you REALLY need to replace it. They do good work and I keep coming back. I highly recommend this crew!

Have been using these guys for years and now I will officially be looking for a new mechanic. First incident: 2 years ago I bought a set of winter tires from OK tire and brought them in to Icon to have them put on my rims and have the summers removed. A little while after dropping my car off, I received a phone call from Icon saying they could not get the tires on my rims and were the wrong size. They put them back inside the car in the trunk. I came right away with my husband to check, thinking MAYBE I grabbed the wrong tires. They were in fact the correct tires. That's when my husband and I noticed Icon had completely shredded/ tore 3 out of 4 of the brand new tires, rendering them useless. I went back inside to tell them they ruined my tires and they denied it completely. (If they did not do it, then why would they not call me to say the tires you gave us are shredded before even starting the work?) I asked them to replace them and they refused. Brand new tires completely garbage. Not knowing what to do, I took them back to OK tire, explained what happened and they were able to put the one good tire on my rim with no problems and they kindly replaced the other 3 for me even though Icon destroyed them. Thank you to OK tire or I would have been out hundreds of dollars.<br>Second incident:<br>Im likely the idiot because I returned to Icon a while after the tire incident for oil changes. Recently I replaced the cabin air filter in my car myself. Cost me $10 and 2 minutes of my time. The following day I take my car in to them for an oil change and mentioned JUST oil change and engine filter needed to be done. Upon picking up the car, I noticed on the invoice there was a charge for a cabin air filter for $100. I turned around and asked why they did this since I had put a brand new one in the day before and did not give any sort of permission for them to replace it. The response they gave me was "it was the wrong one and you did not specify." I asked for a full refund on the cabin filter. They asked for my keys back so they could take out the one they put in and put mine back in. They did refund me, but they took almost half an hour to swap it back over.<br>Its too bad because for years my husband and I both enjoyed their service, however I do not appreciate them trying to pull the wool over my eyes on more than one occasion. I will not be giving them my business going forward. Zero accountability, and scammy, unethical work practices.

Was planning on buying a car of Facbook marketplace and chose this shop to do a pre-purchase inspection and they inspected the vehicle for me and gave me an awesome sense of security and able to go with confidence in buying this car.

We needed someone to take a look at our van last minute and they were kind enough to fit us in.<br><br>You can tell it’s a family-owned business that takes pride in what they do. The owner was honest, helpful, and genuinely cared about helping us out. It’s nice to deal with a business that still operates with integrity and treats people right.<br><br>We really appreciate them taking the time for us and would definitely recommend Icon Automobiles!
