The person at the front desk was very rude. Literally told me to “get out” while I was only asking him questions about my lawn mower issue.

Hi there, I'm an 18 year old with miled autism who is an Enthusiast with old Chainsaws. i bought this old Homelite 7-19 Chainsaw on Ebay a few years ago and the problem that it had was the piston was scored. As I went into highschool i wanted to Learn how to fix and restore old Chainsaws but thanks to the dumb highschool policys they just put me in a "special needs" class due to my autism, so I never got the opportunity to learn how to do it. So I've been looking high and low in my area trying to find people who are interested in fixing old stuff like this. I was at a friend's party and was talking to someone of the people about my interests and one of them happened to be the owner's son who told me about this place and said that his dad would be interested in fixing it. But when i brought the saw in to see if he could get it fixed, he just told me that he didn't want to and told me that "oh I just put them up on display and older saws are more tricky and dangerous to operate and Blah blah blah" and it was just a straight up No to me, so i felt deeply disappointed that he refused to work on it. For now I'll just keep looking for anyone else who would be interested to fixed it, but i don't blame the owner nor his son for anything, they just could have handled the situation better.

I called to ask a question about my snow blower starter cord. The person on the phone was rude and hung up on me very quickly. I still went into the store with my part to see if they could order a replacement for me. I supplied the part number and model number for the machine, after 20 minutes of waiting he told me that it would be $125 for a part that should be less than $40. I wanted to confirm it would be the right part however he said “that’s not my problem I don’t even want to do this for you” I was willing to pay his inflated rate to fix my machine however this blatant disrespect will not be tolerated. I would avoid this place at all costs and strongly encourage you to find someone who will actually help and appreciate your business. Would give a 0 if I could please save your money and your sanity.

Every once in a while you come across a small shop that’s a true gem in a sea of big businesses—and Milton Small Engines is definitely one of them.

I brought my chainsaw in because it wasn’t running right, and they had it purring like a kitten and roaring like a lion when cutting again. What really impressed me was the extra touch—they even cleaned the case it came in, which is well above and beyond.

I walked away with zero concerns and total confidence. This is the kind of place I’ll be coming back to from now on. Thanks Brandon and Steve.

There isn't a no star rating so I'm forced to give them a one star.

Avoid this place — rude, dismissive, and questionable service!!!

I brought in a power washer because I was having trouble starting it. I had already replaced the air filter, spark plug, and fuel, but at 77 years old and after battling cancer, I wanted a professional to take a look in case it was something more than just my strength—and sure enough, when he pulled it, it started right away. I believe it was due to the parts I had replaced and change of gas the day before and everything settling, but I still wanted it properly checked out.

That was my first mistake.

When I called the next day for an update, the older gentleman was incredibly rude and arrogant. He snapped that it had only just come in and then hung up on me. No explanation, no courtesy—nothing.

I waited four more days with zero communication and finally went in myself. My machine was just sitting there untouched. He didn't know if it was done. I was told the person who worked on it was out for lunch, and the older man couldn’t even say where it was beyond “I think I saw it on the bench.” I pointed it out outside of his shop.

Only after I said I would wait for the younger guy who worked on it to come back from lunch did he suddenly come back about 20 minutes later and claim it was “done”—which frankly felt very convenient.

When I questioned it (because it looked exactly the same), he became defensive and asked why I was questioning him. He claimed his son cleaned the carburetor and changed the gas. That is simply not believable. I informed the son that I had just filled it with premium fuel before bringing it in, and I got it back nearly empty. The carburetor was still dirty and looked untouched.

I’ve worked with small engines for over 45 years doing landscaping and snow removal in Milton—I know exactly what serviced equipment looks like, and this wasn’t it.
And for this, I was charged $92.

Rude attitude, no communication, and what feels like completely dishonest service. I paid and left, but I will never return and make sure that if anyone askes, they will never be recommended; in fact I would emphatically discourage it.

Do yourself a favour and take your equipment somewhere honest.
