I rented a U-Haul truck through this location and was disappointed by how a fuel discrepancy was handled.

When I picked up the truck, the fuel level recorded on the rental agreement was higher than the actual fuel level in the vehicle. Fortunately, I took timestamped photos at pickup showing the gauge. When I returned the truck, I added fuel and returned it with a little bit more than it had when I received it.

Despite this, I was charged an additional fuel fee.

The $11 charge itself isn’t what bothered me most. What was frustrating was the complete lack of accountability when I called to explain the situation. Rather than reviewing the evidence or acknowledging that the fuel level on the paperwork may have been recorded incorrectly, I was simply told that I should have caught the discrepancy before leaving.

Mistakes happen. Had someone simply said, “You’re right, the fuel level appears to have been recorded incorrectly, and we’ll correct the charge,” I would have had no issue. Instead, the concern was dismissed entirely.

I would strongly recommend that anyone renting from this location take detailed photos of the fuel gauge, odometer, and vehicle condition before leaving.
