Looked everywhere and found them doing my paint job at a reasonable price. Great service and very clean work done to my wrx! 10/10 service
I was really happy. I found Jake. He’s so helpful. Very informative. I swear I must’ve asked this guy 20 billion questions. He stood so patient took care of all my worries. He was definitely the best priced in town. Got my bumper fixed up really quick. I did not think it could get done that fast. Extremely well, communication and professional I admire how thorough Jake is. He chooses his words wisely, and that means a lot to me.
Did a very good job on my hood of my car I recommended to family friends whoever needs car repair. This is definitely the new spot doesn’t charge an arm and a leg. Really nice guy. Everywhere else I went they wanted almost 5 times as much for something that he got done relatively fast
Much much more details here but limited by google.
- Dropped my car off to them for relatively minor repair of scratches and lower trim dent on my front passenger door, under contract.
- Picked up the car with severe "orange peel" on the door and the dent was not touched. (Look up orange peel, auto body paint-not good) Was told peel could be remedied with a wet sand from a detail shop. When I got the car home I observed overspray on my passenger windows and windshield.
- Multiple detail/auto body advisors arrived at same opinion-- Peel so severe cannot be wet sanded and developed pinholes. Door has to be re-done by a auto body shop.
- Advised Lakeside that I did not feel comfortable returning the car under there warranty for further repairs at this point.
- Had another auto body shop repair the door. Again. They noted excessive orange peel, pinholes, color mis-match, and a significant amount of overspray throughout the exterior of the vehicle which will require additional correction and removal to restore the exterior finish.
- Requested that Lakeside Auto Body refund my money based on their 3 year guarantee. Not only did they refuse, I was met with a pretty hostile attitude. I didn't even ask for reimbursement for the secondary repairs. Which they caused with the paint.
- Encourage all to look at the review comments as well as the "before and after pics" online. Several of the "after" pics of the cars are incomplete. Although the company appears to enjoy some 4 and 5 stars, the same customers assigning some of the stars describe mis-match paint colors, overspray on windshields, etc. Many people, including myself, are not familiar enough with auto body work and don't recognize a poor auto paint job or body repair. They are told by the company that the repair is not 100 percent. Stars don't always match their comments.
- As far as I can tell this business has only been operating since January of this year. If you are considering this business for your repairs you might want to research the registered representatives for the company and the legal history. This matter is probably headed for litigation soon. Safer still, look elsewhere.
Response
I only observed and dealt with 1 employee from Lakeside during this process. I will not use his given name here beyond john doe as i do not know anything about him. What I do know is that when I asked him why another name pops up on emails, caller ID, even the paint order, he claimed that that was the owner. However, on his website there is his face with the name he gave me, as the business owner.
I can tell that the response provided here to my complaint is not the same person. The response contained several inaccuracies involving this incident. I will address it here directly.
* Vehicle was returned with a finished, glossy appearance and the repair area was in very nice condition when you picked it up.
False. I'm afraid that you are being mislead by john doe. The orange peel was so bad that I noticed it from several feet away as I was approaching the car. I also noticed the dent had not been touched beneath the door. JD's advice was to take it to a detailing shop for a wet sand, he never offered to leave or return the car for repairs.
*Your own pics illustrate issues. First, that is my car but not the correct color in one frame, gray, and not that tint of blue in the other. Seriously? Also, if you expand the pic frame on the first slide you can see some type of light colored medium covering up the exact area where the peel and pits were. Was this done deliberately to cover up the damage? I sent the pics to the shop that corrected the repairs; they pointed out to me the very likely issue with the overspray as john doe did not cover the car properly before painting. The shop sent me a pic of my car covered the proper, professional way before they began painting it.
So I raise you on the "disappoint" review. This experience with john doe and your company has been a colossal PIA.
Great guy. Helped with my lower window weatherstrip and bumper while I went to get an estimate for my damaged door. Great customer service too. Would definitely recommend.
