Reasonable and Quick Service with friendly staff
Brought our car in for a suspension noise diagnosis, they had the problem verified and our car back on the road sounding/riding good as new within half a day. Would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a trustworthy and reliable place to get their vehicle fixed.
Had a few vehicles repaired now, there are quick for appointments, prices are reasonable and fair. They get the job done hassle free. Would highly recommend.
Got me in quick for an emergency suspension repair. Quoted a fair price and repairs were completed promptly. If I have repairs in the future I will use Timmins Auto Service
I brought my vehicle in for an alternator replacement. During the unloading process while it was being towed to Timmins Auto Service, a mechanic named Gilles approached me and asked what the issue was. I explained that it appeared the alternator had failed. During our conversation, he mentioned that on my type of vehicle, the A/C system would need to be drained in order to remove the alternator. He also asked if the air conditioning had been working beforehand, and I told him that it had. I explained that it stopped working only after the alternator failed, thinking it's likely due to the lack of electrical power.
When I picked up my vehicle and paid the invoice of $868.14, everything appeared to be running normally. However, as soon as I tried the air conditioning, I discovered that it no longer worked.
Remembering my earlier conversation with Gilles, I called the shop to ask how much it would cost to recharge the A/C system. The employee who answered the phone seemed to forget who he was speaking with, even though I had left the shop only about 10 minutes earlier.
I turned around and returned to the shop to speak with Gilles. This time, he told me that the A/C system did not need to be drained on my vehicle and insisted that he never "touched it." However, he then went on to say that he had to move the A/C components slightly out of the way to complete the repair. Those statements seem contradictory, as the system was clearly handled during the repair and could have been damaged or disturbed in the process.
I asked if he could connect the gauges to check whether there was still refrigerant in the system, but he dismissed the request, saying that the A/C recharge machine was currently being used on another customer's vehicle. At that point, no attempt was made to inspect or diagnose why the A/C was no longer functioning after the alternator replacement. Unfortunately, the conflicting explanations and lack of any attempt to inspect the issue left me disappointed and with little confidence in the service I received.
Probably won't be returning.
