“I drove 8 hours to my son’s baseball tournament in Timmins recently..
and on a 40 degree,
Friday afternoon..
my truck broke down 800 feet from checking into our hotel!
I called several, (6) big name and highly rated mechanics..
as well as a few big name tire shops. (some that I could actually see from my location!)
No one could see me for “weeks”..
Not one company could send someone to even assess the damage.
Even being able see into two of their offices, they could not send anyone across the street or even recommend anyone that could help!!
Then I saw the “Call Kevin” towing in the name bar!
I called Kevin.
..after I explained that I was out of town, couldn’t wait weeks, and up a creek without a paddle!
he was out to tow me within 20 minutes!
He brought my truck to CJ Equipment Sales and Service, (again it was Friday afternoon and very Hot…)
after hearing my predicament, Jason, at CJ, had his crew put my truck back together.
Ready at 5!
ffs! That’s crazy!!!
Thank you very much Kevin and the awesome service guys at CJ Equipment,
@ 1pm on a steaming hot Friday..
I did not think my truck would be driving me home on Sunday.
an 8 hr drive.
It was ready 4 hours later!
unbelievable.
Have ANY problems in Timmins Ontario,
CALL KEVIN!!!
🫡👍”

Follow the severe-duty maintenance schedule if you tow or haul regularly
Change transfer case and differential fluids every 50,000-60,000 km
Upgrade to heavy-duty brake pads if you tow frequently
Check U-joints for play every time you rotate your tires
Don't ignore DEF or DPF warnings on diesel trucks—they will cause the engine to derate
Have your truck's suspension inspected annually, especially if you carry heavy loads frequently

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does truck brake service cost in Timmins? +
Truck brake pad and rotor replacement for one axle costs $400-$800 due to larger, heavier-duty components compared to passenger cars. Heavy-duty or one-ton trucks may cost more.
How often should I service my 4WD system? +
Transfer case and front/rear differential fluids should be changed every 50,000-60,000 km, or more frequently if you use 4WD regularly or drive through water crossings.
Do lifted trucks need special maintenance? +
Yes, lifted trucks put additional stress on CV joints, driveshaft angles, ball joints, and tie rod ends. They need more frequent alignment checks and steering component inspections.
Is the diesel truck maintenance schedule different from gas? +
Yes, diesel trucks require additional maintenance items including fuel filter changes, DEF system service, DPF regeneration management, and often more expensive oil changes due to higher oil capacity.
