I went to Muffler Hut to have a muffler valve installed. The welding work was good but the wiring and installation were a completely different story.

The wiring for the muffler valve was run right against the muffler which caused it to melt. The control box was also put inside a plastic bag beside the engine. I told Mo that I didn't think it was a good idea and that the heat would cause problems but he assured me it would be fine. It wasn't.

Not long after, the plastic bag melted, there was a strong burning smell, and the wiring was damaged from being routed against hot exhaust components. When I contacted the shop they told me to bring the car back. I did and they said it was fixed but now the muffler valve still doesn't work properly.

They also claimed that one of the clips came broken. That's not true. I personally saw Mo break the clip during the installation and later say it came that way.

What frustrated me the most was that instead of taking responsibility for the poor installation they started blaming the product. The issue wasn't the product, it was the labor and how it was installed. In the end I had to spend an extra $150 at another shop just to have the wiring redone properly because Mo did not seem to care and I had lost confidence that the problem would be fixed correctly.

When I asked about compensation the only thing they offered was a discount on work for another vehicle or for friends. After everything that happened I found that very unprofessional.

My advice is to spend a couple extra bucks and have the job done professionally somewhere else. If you need welding work they seem to do a decent job. But based on my experience I would not recommend them for wiring, electronics, or muffler valve installations. I won't be going back.
