I want to start with positives because I try to be fair. The shop is very unique, Justin scheduled me in over the phone in a timely manner and was polite. I have been here twice, first for an oil change, second for an oil change and an electric issue. Both times I ended up spending a few hundred dollars more than expected because I was told it was necessary to get done. As a young woman I have to trust what people say because I don’t know my heart about it. My problem lies with the most recent interaction when it was booked for an oil change and an electric issue. My car kept throwing random codes, and the radio and dash would go blank as I drove for 20-30 seconds and then all come back on as I drove. There were also some other issues with it asking for recalibration questions like to open windows and getting anti-theft things. Due to the range of issues I thought it seemed electric but again I am not a mechanic so I took it to the experts. When it was there, I was told that a valve gasket and cover and a coolant hose needed to be fixed before they were willing to look at the car further. I trust that this did need done and agreed because I was very worried about my safety with this issue as the car was “going blank” on me. The things repaired and my oil change came to $720 and the issue I came in for was not fixed or diagnosed. They said they couldn’t make the vehicle act up which I thought was incredibly strange because it did it everytime the car was driven regardless for how long or what speed. So I pick it up, immediately as I pull out the car does it so I call to see if they wanted to come out and see, and I get someone who is not justin on the phone. He says no I would need to rebook in for diagnostic service- which I did not want to do as I had just paid $720 for that without success. I then asked if the car was test driven, and he said he was pretty sure, and I said I just wanted to confirm and asked if he could confirm with whoever worked on it because I would be driving on the highway and wanted to be safe. I was then given attitude and told that they don’t have hours to dedicate to a vehicle driving around (which I never suggested or argued- I was simply asking how long it was driven and under what conditions or speed because I found it unbelievable they did not experience the issue as I had immediately and had immediately for two weeks). I realized I was not getting ahead on the phone so I texted and emailed both the person on the phone and Justin a video of part of what was happening, and I then called back to confirm after seeing the video if they thought it was safe to drive on the highway. I was told yes on the phone that the radio could be broken but that was probably it. I drive on the highway and as I am going faster speeds, all of a sudden the car does this and it triggers and ABS code and my car slams on the brakes on its own, almost causing an accident. Terrified, I get to the side of the road and contact a local dealer for a second opinion. After a conversation of what I had experienced previously, they looked at the car and saw that the ground wire on the battery was so loose that when it was driving it was disconnecting and reconnecting quickly which was causing the aray of issues. They tightened it, and after looking at my invoice told me that the issues fixed should not have been required to fix to look at the car, and that if the car was test driven it would have acted up. It was also their opinion that the battery should have been the first diagnostic look as well as a code reader (which the code reader was used) due to the complaints I had. They charged me nothing for fixing the issue and my car has run great since. This place has a lot of great reviews so I would like to believe that this was a mistake and not a way to get more money out of a young student but my experience did not match the 4.5 stars that has been accumulated here.
My first time coming here. Absolutely amazing, customer service outstanding. All the staff are friendly and any concerns you have they listen..10/10 would definitely recommend bringing you vehicle here!!! The coolest shop ever!!!!
I had a beautiful Volvo that I brought here for servicing. I had them take care of some rattles on the dash that are common on those vehicles. They "took care" of all the rattles by breaking all the dash mounts and gluing all the trim back together. Increased the damage by 100% and the squeaks and rattles were worse than ever before. If he was a professional and knew this could happen, he should advise his client that and allow them the choice before you just suck their money. The car was destroyed after that, it was a real shame since that car had been in my family since new. Later I brought the car to another reputable shop to fix the ac evaporator, he showed me the damage that was done by Justin, and because of the age of the vehicle interior dash parts are obsolete. I had to scrap a perfectly mint s70 because of this hack shop. Very sad.
New to town, I was looking for a local auto shop for an oil change and came across Justin’s Auto Repair with great Google reviews. I decided to see for myself, and they definitely lived up to the reputation.
Justin was friendly, honest, and reliable. I also asked him to check if there were any other issues with my car that I should be concerned about, and he took the time to inspect it and explain everything professionally without any pressure. Highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for trustworthy and knowledgeable service!
