Richard and his team at Great Rate Transmission are undoubtedly the best in the business. Richard is incredibly knowledgeable and honest. I brought our 2018 Honda Pilot in because the transmission light was on. He quickly diagnosed the issue as a problem with the torque converter and informed me that replacement would be quite expensive. However, he had researched the issue and discovered that Honda had extended the warranty for this specific problem. He suggested we take our vehicle to Honda for the repair.<br><br>When we took our vehicle to Honda, they confirmed that the torque converter repair was covered under the extended warranty. However, they also mentioned a secondary repair was needed because the torque converter had damaged a secondary valve, which would cost $2000.<br><br>Richard disagreed with this assessment and encouraged us to fight it. He advised us to meticulously document every interaction with Honda.<br><br>After months of dealing with Honda Canada and Crown Honda, Honda Canada’s engineers finally agreed with Richard. They determined that only the torque converter needed to be replaced.<br><br>Crown Honda was still being difficult, but we had a sit-down meeting with their GM, where all my detailed notes came in handy. The GM apologized for the whole ordeal and made sure our vehicles repair was done properly. Everything was covered under warranty or paid by Crown Honda.<br><br>Throughout this entire experience, Richard continued to check in on us and offer advice, which was greatly appreciated. He truly went above and beyond for us.

I brought my car to Great Rate Transmission because I thought I was having a transmission problem. They took the time to diagnose the car for free and found that the actual issue was something that needed to be repaired elsewhere.<br><br>What really impressed me was that they allowed me to leave my car there while I called different shops to find someone who could fix the actual problem. They didn't rush me or pressure me, even though the repair wasn't something they would be doing themselves.<br><br>If I hadn't brought my car there, I probably would have had to pay for towing to different shops and possibly pay multiple diagnostic fees just to figure out what was wrong.<br><br>I really appreciate their kindness, patience, and willingness to help even when they weren't making money from the repair. Great customer service, and I would definitely recommend Great Rate Transmission.
