Gold Seal Alternator And Starter Service

Was happy to buy a good OEM alt here to support a local business. Unfortunately it died after a few months so I got a cheap one off Amazon for $180 delivered next day temporarily in my 2010 Honda Pilot. Brought the Gold Seal alt back expecting some warranty or assistance. Boss tested it said failed due to "oil covering the windings". (Had an oil change at Mr Lube few weeks prior so maybe the oil spilled onto alt). Boss said I should take it up with Mr Lube for damages. He mentioned he could probably clean it up and get it working again but I was undecided. This is where things get strange... I called back and asked if they still had the dead alternator and they said they will look for it. Few days later got a call saying it was fixed and ready to go for $280. The strangest customer care I've ever seen after 15 years in service industry. I was never quoted for fixing it nor approved fixing it and for more cost than a new alt is crazy. I'll stick with the Amazon one (it's working with full warranty). This place is good for wholesale or odd alts that are hard to find or need rebuilding. Got me good here for the new one at almost $500, then got it back dead, rebuilt it, now he can go resell alt for full price cuz I'm stuck. Should have just gone to Canadian Tire or Amazon. Maybe it was my bad luck in a bad situation. *** Edit: Owner just replied that "This never happened as described". Its exactly as described and conveniently denying the whole thing. Can't deny it when I have the bill, dates & time, names, conversations recorded, pictures.

Brought in my alternator to be checked & itvwas not producing what it should have. So the fellow said he will rebuild it, for which he did & now all is fine. Receptionists was very helpful & friendly as was all the staff. I recommend Gold Seal for your alternator & starting problems.
