Mr Transmission Brampton has our vehicle since Feb 10 with a stated 7 -10 day turnaournd, just to find out that they didn't order any parts until Feb 20th. They contacted us Mar 5 stating the car will be ready for pick up Mar 6 AM. As we were getting ready to leave I called at 11:54AM, I was told that the car is NOT ready and they will try for the end of day. Lousy customer service, all we got the run around and empty committments. I contacted their head office and was told someone will contact me in 2 days. They DO NOT care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give a ZERO stars I would. I would not recommend them.
I paid almost three thousand and did not get the result. I'm disappointed .
Negligence, incompetence, or intentional damage?
A few weeks ago a family member brought a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek to Mr Transmission for routine transmission fluid servicing. About 500 km after the fluid change, the transmission suffered a catastrophic failure. The transmission, which still had about 50,000 km left on the factory warranty, seized completely while driving at highway speed. The car locked up in the middle of the highway with semis roaring past at 100km/hr. We're incredibly fortunate no one was killed!
The car was towed to the nearest qualified Subaru repair shop. Upon removing the drain plug on the seized differential, the mechanic found that there was no gear oil in the differential. In his written report he said "...When the transmission was serviced (by Mr Transmission) the front differential was drained but not filled. (there was) No sign of level or fill plugs ever removed". It appears as though Mr Transmission made no effort to re-fill the drained differential. Subaru agrees with the findings of the independent repair shop. The total cost of repairs and towing is almost $10,000.
You would think that the issue is pretty clear cut, and Mr Transmission would take responsibility, but they are not. The owner of the franchise is evasive, non-responsive and completely unhelpful. He won't agree to meet or even discuss it; all he does is refer to weasel clauses and look for ways to avoid responsibility. Mr Transmission's response is completely unprofessional and amateurish.
So, was this negligence, incompetence, or intentional damage? Searching online we found another customer of the same Mr Transmission shop that suffered the same catastrophic failure a year ago. Craig A said "... They are underhanded and not to be trusted. ... They then refilled our trans and diff with less than half of the required fluid. Just enough to hit the road but break down in a few 100 km." In further discussion Craig A said " I believe they are deliberately under filling diffs and trans to cause failures requiring full new rebuilds."
I can't say with certainty that Mr Transmission did this deliberately; however, in my opinion, in this instance, they are unquestionably negligent and/or incompetent. Either way, it's not good. There are lots of first rate transmission shops out there. Try Benz Automatic Transmissions or Bert's Automotive Transmissions .... go anywhere but Mister Transmission.
Mister Transmission (Head Office)
My experience with your Richmond Hill franchise raises serious concerns about brand oversight and accountability. I paid over $1,800 across two visits for a clearly identified issue that remains completely unresolved, despite repeated assurances it was βfixed.β
The problem was misdiagnosed twice, and I was charged for repairs that did not address the issue at all. I also have not received full documentation/receipts for the work performed.
I have supporting evidence confirming the issue persists exactly as reported. This reflects poorly on the brandβs integrity and quality control. Based on this experience, I would not trust the accuracy or honesty of service under this brand.
Head Office will not even respond.
