Went there to ask for some help with my door frame, they helped and quickly too

After towing my 2022 Elantra here for a starter issue, I was met with suspicious pricing and unprofessional pressure tactics.<br><br>He provided a $1100+ quote to change a starter. Later, I got three other quotes for the exact same job, ranging from $630 to $750.<br><br>1. Dishonest Parts Pricing: He tried to charge me for 4 separate intake manifold gaskets at $44 each ($176 total). On top of that, he quoted a "renovated" starter at $325.<br><br>2. Pressure tactics: I paid a $160 diagnostic fee. When I decided to go to another shop because their quote was inflated, the staff became aggressive. He claimed I "couldn't cancel" because of a contract I signed for the diagnosis. He acted like he was giving me a favor by letting me go.<br><br>3. Poor Attitude: The funniest part is, I asked about a tire swap( rims on), he said their standard price is $90 and he’d "generously" do it for $80. A $10 discount on a thousand-dollar job.<br><br>He clearly targeted me because he thought I was a young girl who knew nothing about cars. Even though towing my car in and out cost me $200+, I am glad I didn't give my business to this dishonest shop.

I brought my car to Dupont auto repair again just last week. My car is 26 years old and I want to keep this car going as long as I can as new cars are so expensive now. Recently, my car started sounding like a race car with the deep low rumbling happening every time I press the gas. Dupont Auto Repair replaced the exhaust pipe as it had cracked likely due to rust. Now the car is running amazing like it was brand new with restored power that I didn’t realize that I had lost. Thank you, Moazam and your team.<br><br>Previous service was in 2022:<br>I own a 2000 Honda Civic SE. After my mechanic retired in 2018, I am very glad to have found Dupont Auto Repair. They are friendly and knowledgeable, and most importantly honest. I take my car there to have my regular oil change and seasonal tire changes done. I've been very happy with the quality of their work and their prices are reasonable. Last year, I had the radiator replaced due to a crack. And just recently Dupont Auto resolved a more serious problem with my car not starting. It started as a occasional problem that happened on and of since 2018 but started occurring more frequently since last year and I couldn't rely on my car starting and was nervous driving it. I thought it might be a fuel pump issue but when it happened again, I got CAA to tow my car into the garage and they were able to identify the problem as no spark. Dupont Auto changed the spark plugs but the distributor, rotor, and ignition coil also needed to be replaced. My car now drives with the power and acceleration like when it was new! I am very happy with this repair because it means that I can keep my car longer. The availability of new cars, and even used cars, are in short supply now and very expensive.<br><br>I don't know a lot about auto repair which is why it is important that I find a mechanic that does quality work and who is honest.
