“RPM's staff & skilled mechanics truly give meaning to the word TRUST! Just having moved to BC, my car's under plate/shield had slightly fallen and would soon start dragging if left unattended. Being new to Kelowna not knowing ANYONE much less an auto repair business, I was driving to another errand when I saw RPM's sign and two or three Police Cars waiting their turn to be repaired or just regular maintenance. Wow! Who wouldn't trust an auto repair shop with City Police vehicles being attended to? So I stopped by. RPM's understanding team member set up an appointment for me. When I dropped off my car, I had asked about the closest coffee shop, as I was prepared for a long wait. A team member told me the location and that they'd probably be done after I purchased the coffee & headed back (walking of course!). I just knew I'd be settling in at the coffee shop and have a good long wait as caffeine would course through my blood stream, helping to ratchet up the anxiety about the cost and if any parts would need to be ordered! No sooner did I sit down with my cappuccino when I was phoned by RPM as my car was ready to go!!! I could hardly believe it!
As I walked back to RPM's front office, I was greeted with a big smile, my key fobs and the words "ready to go". Wait! Where's the bill? Or, what about parts to be ordered? No such thing. I was reassured all was well, my car's under shield was re-affixed and I did NOT owe anything as the mechanics time involved was short.
I've owned many cars over the years and dealt with many different auto maintenance businesses within many different Provinces & countries, some I wish I never trusted. That is NOT my story with RPM in Kelowna. They totally earned my trust. As I looked under my car and saw the repair, I felt confident in the professional workmanship and standard of care provided by RPM. THANK YOU RPM! Of all the tasks involved in moving to another Province, finding a trustworthy and professional mechanic is now a box I can check off on my very long "to do" list.”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with August Garage.

I am participating in the Going to the Sun Rally in a 1969 Alfa Romeo Spider 1750 and developed a very substantial and difficult-to-diagnose external oil leak while passing through Kelowna.

We found August Garage essentially by chance. I arrived at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon with no meaningful appointment, driving a 57-year-old Italian car with a complicated history and a problem that several people had already looked at.

Despite being busy and nearing the end of their day, Bryce came over, listened carefully to what the car had been doing, got underneath it, started tracing the oil and immediately began approaching the problem methodically rather than jumping to the most expensive possible conclusion.

The shop itself is remarkable. They work on everything from European classics to Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Lotus and some truly extraordinary specialty cars, yet they treated my old Alfa with exactly the same level of interest and respect.

What impressed me even more happened the next morning.

I brought the Alfa back at 7:00 AM specifically so the engine could cool before they opened and Bryce could inspect it. To my complete surprise, Bryce was already there working and ready to continue helping me.

That says a lot.

He identified movement in the dipstick tube that others had missed, tightened it and materially reduced one aspect of the oil problem. He then carefully traced another possible leak to the old mechanical tachometer/rev-counter drive, removed the fitting, discovered a questionable old paper sealing arrangement, resealed it, and continued checking other known Alfa leak points rather than simply declaring that a 57-year-old engine needed to be rebuilt.

This is exactly what I want from someone working on a classic car: curiosity, judgment, patience and an understanding that diagnosis should come before expensive conclusions.

I have owned and driven unusual cars for decades and have dealt with many specialty shops. August Garage is one of those rare places where you immediately get the feeling that the people working there genuinely love cars and enjoy solving problems.

Whether this particular Alfa ultimately needs minor gasket work or major engine work, I would be completely comfortable leaving the car with this team and telling them to properly sort it out.

Bryce and everyone at August Garage turned what could have been a miserable rally-ending experience into one of the best examples I have encountered of the automotive community taking care of a fellow enthusiast.

If you have a classic, European, exotic or simply interesting car in the Kelowna area, this is a shop I would recommend without hesitation.”
