“I’m happy to update my original one-star review to five stars now that my truck has been repaired and returned to me.

The managers took the situation seriously and worked quickly to turn the experience around. I especially want to recognize the mechanic who stayed after hours to complete the repair and get my truck back on the road.

Although the way things unfolded at the beginning was frustrating, I genuinely appreciate the effort, response, and level of service provided in the end. Thank you to the management team and the mechanic for making it right.”

“My son bought a 2019 ram back a few years ago .. on no fault of twin motors it had paint problems from the factory.. first time Chrysler covered it no problem .. it happened again and as I said it was a factory defect with painting at factory .. Chrysler said truck was to old even though they know of the issue with many vehicles .. thanks to Luke , Davide , and Brett they got some help for my son .. unfortunately me being me I had argued and said things in a manner that wasn’t needed .. they still were professional enough to help .. so for that I say thank you for helping my son since it’s his first truck and he loves it ..”

Transmission Tips for The Pas Drivers

Change automatic and CVT transmission fluid every 60,000 to 90,000 km, even if the manufacturer calls it "lifetime" fluid
Always use the exact OEM fluid specification (such as WS, DW-1, Mercon ULV, or CVT-specific fluid)
Come to a complete stop before shifting between Reverse and Drive
Inspect transmission cooler lines for rust during winter oil changes, as a burst cooler line can ruin a transmission in minutes
Have a transmission specialist scan fault codes first; many harsh-shift issues are caused by a $300 solenoid rather than a full rebuild

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does transmission repair or rebuild cost in The Pas? +
In The Pas, a transmission fluid and filter service costs $180 to $350, and solenoid or cooler line repairs run $350 to $900. A manual clutch replacement typically costs $1,200 to $2,400, while a full automatic or CVT rebuild/replacement ranges from $2,800 to $5,500+.
Is "lifetime" transmission fluid really lifetime? +
In practice, "lifetime" usually means the length of the factory powertrain warranty (around 100,000 km). Draining and refilling transmission fluid every 60,000 to 90,000 km removes clutch wear material and significantly extends transmission life.
Can a transmission problem be fixed without a full rebuild? +
Often, yes. Delayed shifting, limp mode, or flares between specific gears are frequently caused by low fluid from a leaking cooler line, a failed shift solenoid, a speed sensor, or a worn valve body that can be serviced with the transmission still in the car.
How long does a transmission rebuild take? +
A full transmission removal, teardown, rebuild, reinstallation, and road test typically takes 3 to 5 business days depending on parts availability.
